National NDIS Registered Provider — Occupational Therapy Across Perth — Children, Teens, Adults

Looking for a Perth occupational therapist?

Everyday Independence provides NDIS occupational therapy across Perth for children, teenagers and adults with disability. Our paediatric occupational therapists and broader therapy team help people build practical skills, increase independence and participate more fully in everyday life.

As a community-based provider, our Perth occupational therapists support people in their homes, schools, workplaces and communities. By delivering therapy where everyday life happens, we help create meaningful and lasting change.

What does a Perth occupational therapist do?

An occupational therapist helps people develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for everyday life. Occupational therapy can support children, teenagers and adults to participate more fully at home, school, work and in the community.

Support may focus on self-care, daily routines, sensory processing, emotional regulation, school participation, employment, assistive technology, community access and independent living skills.

At Everyday Independence, occupational therapy is delivered as part of a connected team. Depending on your age and goals, your support may be delivered by an occupational therapist, key worker or youth lead practitioner. They work alongside speech pathologists, physiotherapists, behaviour support practitioners and habit coaches to provide coordinated support tailored to your needs.

For children, paediatric occupational therapy can help build the skills needed to participate more fully at home, childcare, school and in the community. This may include supporting the development of play skills, emotional regulation, sensory processing, self-care, school readiness, social participation and greater independence in everyday activities.

Why people choose Everyday Independence

Here’s some of the reasons people choose Everyday Independence:

Therapy happens where life happens

Occupational therapy is provided in the places you live, learn, work and socialise. This is the best place to build your skills and change community attitudes that may be holding you back.

One team around you

You’ll be supported by a team of practitioners with diverse training and life perspectives who will look at your whole life from different angles. This ensures the right therapy team and support strategies are planned and delivered.

Practicing routines and skills

We’ll help accelerate your outcomes with cost effective habit coaching. A habit coach will help you practice your new routines and skills between therapy sessions.

Measuring your quality of life

The best way to maximise your NDIS budget is by measuring and regularly reviewing your progress. We’ll track this across your independence, participation, wellbeing and the supports you use, ensuring your plan continues to work towards your goals.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose Everyday Independence for occupational therapy in Perth?

You’ll have one main practitioner who gets to know you, understands your goals and leads your support. When you need additional expertise, they bring in the right therapists and practitioners, so everyone is working together towards the same goals.

Our therapy happens where you live, learn, work and socialise. This means strategies are practical, relevant and easier to use in everyday life.

As your goals change, your team changes with you. By bringing in the right support at the right time, we help you get the most from your NDIS funding while building the skills, confidence and independence to participate more fully in everyday life.

Do you provide NDIS occupational therapy in Perth?

Yes. Everyday Independence has three local teams in Perth who come to you to provide occupational therapy across Central Perth, Southern Perth and Northern Perth.

Do you provide home-based occupational therapy in Perth?

Yes. We provide home-based occupational therapy throughout Perth. Support can also take place at school, childcare, work and in the community, depending on your goals and needs.

Can an occupational therapist complete a Functional Capacity Assessment in Perth?

Yes. Our occupational therapists complete Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs) across Perth. A Functional Capacity Assessment helps identify a person’s strengths, support needs and functional capacity and may support NDIS access requests, plan reviews and funding recommendations.

Can a paediatric occupational therapist help my child?

Yes. Our paediatric occupational therapists support children of all ages to develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for everyday life. Paediatric occupational therapy may help with play, learning, emotional regulation, sensory processing, self-care, school participation and building social connections.

For children under nine years, support is often delivered through our early childhood supports using a key worker approach. Your early childhood key worker is an experienced early childhood practitioner who works closely with your family and brings paediatric occupational therapists and other specialists into the team when their expertise is needed.

How do you support teenagers and young adults?

Many teenagers and young adults aged up to 25 years work with a youth lead practitioner. Youth lead practitioners are experienced professionals who specialise in supporting young people to build independence, confidence and life skills as they navigate school, employment, relationships and adulthood.

They provide much of the support directly and bring together the right therapy team, including occupational therapists, speech pathologists and other practitioners when needed. This means young people have one trusted person leading their support while still having access to a broader team of experts.

Who is a youth lead practitioner?

A youth lead practitioner is the main person supporting teenagers and young adults aged 9–25. They use their knowledge and experience in supporting young people to lead your therapy, provide day-to-day support, and bring in the right therapists and practitioners when additional expertise is needed.

Is occupational therapy available for adults?

Yes. Occupational therapy can support adults to build daily living skills, increase independence, access the community, use assistive technology and work towards employment and personal goals.

Can occupational therapy support autistic people?

Yes. Occupational therapy can support autistic children, teenagers and adults to build skills, increase independence and participate more fully in everyday life. Support is tailored to each person’s strengths, preferences and goals.

Where does occupational therapy take place?

Support takes place in the environments where you live, learn, work and socialise. This may include your home, school, childcare setting, workplace or local community.

What happens at the first appointment?

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to understand your strengths, goals and support needs. Depending on your age and circumstances, you may meet with an occupational therapist, key worker or youth lead practitioner who will help identify the best approach to achieving your goals.

How can I get started with occupational therapy in Perth?

Contact our team to discuss your goals and support needs. We’ll help you understand your options and connect you with the right practitioner or therapy team.
