If you don’t have employment or vocational goals in your NDIS plan, we can guide you to include them and help you access the NDIS funding.

We offer coaching to help you feel more confident and support your mental health as you get ready for work. Ideal for young people with psychosocial disabilities who want to take steps towards employment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for employment support funding through NDIS?

Any NDIS participant aged 15-22 who has identified an employment or vocational outcome is eligible for employment support funding through the NDIS.

What NDIS funding is required to access employment and vocational services?

To access to our Youth Employment Program, you need NDIS Capacity Building – Finding and Keeping a Job – Employment Assistance funding. This was previously known as SLES (School Leaver Employment Support).

For a Vocational Assessment you need Employment Related Assessment, Counselling and Advice funding.

Our therapists can support you to access any of this funding if employment is one of your goals.

Tell me more about your Employment Program.

This broader program can be one or two years of intensive support to build skills, knowledge and confidence to join the workforce. It often commences with a vocational assessment to explore strengths and interests related to employment and can be as much as seven hours a week of assistance with employment coaches. The program broadly covers:

Finding the right path

  • Individualised plan, tailored to your goals and aspirations
  • Establishing a program of supports – reviewed every 12 weeks
  • Skills and needs assessment
  • Small group support and activities.

Building real skills

  • Establishing your vocational identity
  • Writing resumes and succeeding in job interviews
  • Travelling to and from work
  • Following daily routines to prepare for a work shift
  • Understanding workplace expectations and instructions
  • Time management
  • Working with employers and colleagues
  • Speaking with customers
  • Handling money and budgeting.
What funding is required for psychosocial recovery coaching?

NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coaching funding is required to access this service.
