We’re introducing Cherie Rogers, our Recruitment Specialist who works closely with our Team Leaders to find passionate and skilled team members to join their growing teams.

We asked Cherie to share with us what we look for in new team members, what makes Everyday Independence a great place to work, and the opportunities we currently have to join our team.

What are the key attributes/skills you look for in a new EI Team member?

As an organisation that supports people with disabilities to enjoy their everyday life and live to their potential, our therapists need to have great soft skills as well as technical skills.

We look for team members who have great listening skills, highly developed interpersonal skills and who can problem solve.

We also look for therapists who are caring, who can show adaptability, resilience, and commitment to continually growing their skills.

Team members who will be committed to achieving great outcomes for the people they support is also really important.

Why is Everyday Independence a great place to work?

There are so many reasons why Everyday Independence is a great place to work.

We have a strong culture and work together under a shared vision of delivering a high quality, meaningful service that we can be proud of.

I see so many of our team members build strong connections and relationships with each other, and support each other to be the best they can be.  Our teams also have some fun along the way.

Supporting our team members’ ongoing training and development is a key focus for Everyday Independence. Team members have access to learning opportunities so they can continue to deliver strong outcomes to the people they support and take their careers in the direction they wish to go.

What opportunities are you currently recruiting for?

We’re currently recruiting occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and physiotherapists (new graduates through to experienced clinicians) across all therapy hubs in VIC, NSW, and QLD.

This includes new graduates for intake in November 2020 and January and March 2021.

How can people apply?

You can apply via the job advertisements on our website and several job boards or by emailing us at

We have two New Graduate Virtual Career Evenings coming up in September which are a great opportunity to hear from our Team Leaders and from our new graduates about working at Everyday Independence.
