Everyday Kindness

Throughout July, Everyday Independence proudly celebrated Everyday Kindness 2026, a month-long initiative inspired by the Stay Kind Foundation’s Kind July that encourages people to create moments of connection and positivity in their everyday lives.

The initiative invites Everyday Independence change makers across Australia to take part in simple acts of kindness, whether that’s supporting a colleague, brightening someone’s day, showing appreciation, giving back to the community or making meaningful connections with the people around them.

At its heart, Everyday Kindness is about recognising the positive impact small actions can have. While a kind gesture may seem simple, it has the power to strengthen relationships, foster belonging and create ripple effects that extend far beyond a single moment.

Throughout July, teams across Everyday Independence embraced the challenge, finding creative and thoughtful ways to spread kindness in their hubs, homes and communities. The month was filled with opportunities to celebrate what it means to be a change maker with our teams taking part in daily acts of gratitude, kindness walls and team activities.

The enthusiasm shown across the organisation highlighted Everyday Independence’s purpose: one team supporting each other with purpose to create positive change. By taking the time to support one another and contribute positively to the communities around us, our change makers continued to demonstrate the values that guide the work we do every day.

As Everyday Kindness 2026 draws to a close, we’d like to thank everyone who got involved and helped make this year’s initiative such a success. The creativity, energy and heart shown throughout the month was inspiring to see, and a reminder that kindness is something we can all practise every day of the year.

While Everyday Kindness may be wrapping up for another year, its message lives on. We look forward to continuing to create positive change through everyday acts of kindness and celebrating the initiative again in 2027.
