OT Week 2026: Celebrating Why Participation Matters

This OT Week, we’re celebrating our occupational therapists and the difference they make in people’s everyday lives.

This year’s theme, Participation Matters, reflects a core principle of occupational therapy: taking part in the activities, relationships and moments that matter to us is fundamental to our health, wellbeing and sense of belonging.

At Everyday Independence, our occupational therapists work alongside people to understand what matters most to them and support their participation in everyday life.

Whether they’re helping someone build independence, connect with others or take part in activities at home and in the community, the focus is on making a meaningful, lasting difference.

This work takes more than clinical expertise. It calls for an understanding of the whole person, creative thinking and strong partnerships with people, their families and their broader support networks.

We’re proud of the expertise, creativity and commitment our OTs bring to their work every day.

We’re just as committed to helping them keep learning, growing and doing meaningful work alongside our broader interdisciplinary teams who share their passion for making a difference.

Through mentoring, supervision, professional development and clear career pathways, we support our OTs to build their skills and confidence throughout their careers.

This OT Week, we celebrate occupational therapists across Everyday Independence and the wider profession. Thank you for making participation possible and helping people get more out of everyday life.
