Travel fees

We come to you so you can practise skills in the places you use them, at home, school, work or in the community.

Travel charges include the time your practitioner spends travelling and the distance they travel. We’ll explain these costs and agree on the arrangements with you beforehand.

How travel is charged

Travel component NDIS-funded services Private services
Practitioner travel time 50% of the applicable hourly therapy fee for *eligible services. We’ll confirm the rate that applies to your support. 100% of the applicable hourly therapy fee
Distance travelled $1.25 per kilometre n/a

Travel time is calculated for the time spent travelling, rather than automatically charging a full hour. *Eligible services are all therapy services. Travel time for non-therapy services are charged at the applicable hourly service rate.

Travel limit fees

Appointment location Maximum travel time charged to your appointment
Metropolitan area Up to 30 minutes
Regional area Up to 60 minutes

Travel time starts when your practitioner leaves their hub or previous appointment and ends when they arrive at your appointment location.

The distance charge covers the kilometres travelled from that starting point to your appointment. Return travel charges may also apply when yours is the last appointment of the day.

Keeping travel costs down

When scheduling appointments, we do our best to group visits nearby to reduce travel costs.

If your practitioner supports several people in the same area, travel time and costs, including return travel, will be shared. We’ll discuss any shared arrangements with you beforehand.

Non-face-to-face support

Sometimes we complete work outside of your appointment to support your progress towards your goals. This is called non-face-to-face support and is charged at the rate outlined in your Service Agreement.

This may include activities such as therapy planning, preparing NDIS reports and other work directly related to helping you achieve your goals. More examples of what we might do in and out of sessions to help you reach your goals are in our Everyday Way Participant Charter

Non-face-to-face support is billed at the rate of the relevant support item outlined in your Service Agreement.

All non-face-to-face support is directly related to your goals and may include activities such as therapy planning and preparing NDIS reports.
