On Friday, 24 October, our Shepparton Hub team joined the local Children’s Week celebrations at Ferrari Park in Mooroopna, hosting a vibrant community stall to launch their Positive Change Push initiative.
Alongside fun activities and games in the park, the team embraced the power of storytelling. They organised multilingual recordings of Patience is Power:
The team also donated 50 free hard copies of Patience Is Power to parents, carers, grandparents, kindergartens and early learning centres across the region.
Building on the amazing success of Sutherland Hub’s original Positive Change Push, which created Patience is Power, a children’s book that promotes understanding of disabilities and the value of compassion and patience. One of Sutherland’s talented participants, Michael, brought the story to life with his artwork, and now Shepparton has expanded access to this inspiring story to culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Having this book readily available for children and families to enjoy as a story time video on YouTube in either English, Mandarin and Punjabi is amazing. We’re so grateful to be able to provide unlimited access to this children’s book

The Positive Change Push empowers Everyday Independence teams across Australia to lead grass roots initiatives that promote inclusion and reshape perceptions of disability.
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Shepparton change makers for their creativity, collaboration and commitment to creating more inclusive communities.
