How NDIS Occupational Therapy Delivers More

As a registered NDIS provider, our NDIS occupational therapy helps you create life changing positive change.

Our occupational therapists support you in your community, with neurodiversity affirming practice, as part of a broader team that may include speech pathologists, physiotherapists, positive behaviour practitioners, and habit coaches.

Because the best way to deliver positive change is to look at your whole life and engage a team of practitioners with the understanding and skills that are vital to helping you make the changes that matter to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an occupational therapist help with?

Our occupational therapists help children, teens and adults build skills for everyday life. This may include getting ready for the day, emotional regulation, social connection, sensory preferences, routines, using public transport, finding employment and increasing independence at home, school, work and in the community.

What is occupational therapy and how can it help my child?

Occupational therapy helps children build the skills they need for everyday life. This may include play, emotional regulation, communication, social skills, routines, fine motor skills, sensory preferences, dressing, eating and participating at home, kinder or school. Occupational therapists work with children, teens and their families to build skills through practical support in everyday environments.

How is occupational therapy at Everyday Independence different?

Occupational therapy helps children and adults build everyday skills.  This may include play, emotional regulation, social skills, sensory preferences, finding a hobby, work, or greater independence.

At Everyday Independence, you’ll be supported by an occupational therapist working as part of a broader therapy team. One team working together towards shared goals helps achieve better outcomes.

For children under nine, a key worker will also support your child by implementing some of the OT strategies planned by their OT.

Do you provide occupational therapy at home or in the community?

Yes. We support people where life happens. At home, school, work and in the community  because this is where skills are built and used every day.

How do I choose the right occupational therapist for my child?

If you’re looking for occupational therapy for your child, choose a provider experienced in supporting children at home, kinder and school where everyday skills are developed. We also recommend choosing a registered NDIS provider as they are required to meet strict government quality and safety standards to help ensure services are safe and reliable.
