Preschool Boost Program

Physical Health and Wellbeing

Let’s Move helps children refine their fine and gross motor skills while helping them to develop healthy eating habits and independence. Educators and families gain the knowledge, strategies, and confidence to support children’s learning and development through play and everyday routines.

With support from a key worker and/ or occupational therapist or physiotherapist, access therapy support and coaching, resources and materials to build the skills of educators and families, and parent education, delivered face-to-face or online to fit your needs.

Expected Outcomes

For Children

Improved:

  • fine motor skills
  • gross motor skills
  • coordination
  • independence skills (activities of daily living)
  • awareness of health and safety.
For Educators

Improved:

  • understanding of physical development milestones
  • ability to support gross and fine motor development
  • ability to implement strategies that encourage physical independence

  • awareness of physical health and its impact on development in early childhood
  • understanding of physical development milestones
  • ability to support gross and fine motor development

Let’s Move Everyday Services

Below is an example of the services we can provide in Let’s Move Everyday. Each stage is tailored to your priorities, strengthening the skills and confidence of educators and families, and embedding practical, evidence-based strategies into daily routines so children can thrive at home, in learning settings, and in the community.

Service Delivery and PlanningA Key Worker makes initial contact to understand the specific needs and context of your service.

Together, we’ll set clear goals for delivery, define what success looks like, and establish how progress will be measured.

Preferred delivery modes (online, face-to-face, or blended) will be identified.

We’ll map timeframes for delivery, outline required resources and confirm which professionals (Key Worker and/ or Physiotherapist/ Occupational Therapist) will be involved.

This could include:


  • identifying gaps in fine and gross motor skills

  • understanding what to expect next in children’s motor skill development

  • creating activities and environments to build skills within a play-based environment 

  • targeting specific motor gaps through individualised planning and evidence-based strategies 

  • incorporating skill development opportunities through routines and parent education.
Key Worker1.5 hrs onlineCompleted online with educator(s).
Resources and MaterialsDevelopment of evidence-based resources to support individual planning documents co-created with Key Worker and Educator(s).

This could include:


  • parent education materials

  • targeted motor skill activities to build key skill areas including structured and unstructured opportunities

  • programming materials such as visual prompts and assistive technology to aid skill development.

Key Worker and/ or Occupational Therapist/ Physiotherapist2 hrsDeveloped prior to sessions and/or within sessions.
Coaching and Therapy SupportOn-site delivery by a Key Worker and/or Allied Health professional.

Support provided in targeted blocks focused on your service’s identified goals.

In-room coaching and modelling embedded into daily routines and learning activities.
Key Worker and/ or Occupational Therapist/ Physiotherapist3/6 hrs each session - flexibility based on session length and disciplines involved.Additional costs for travel and accommodation when delivered face to face.
Reflection and capacity BuildingCollaborative sessions to build whole-team knowledge of inclusive practice.

Promote consistent understanding and application of strategies across your program.

Opportunity for reflective practice, shared planning, and team-based problem-solving.
Key Worker2 hrs each session - designed to accompany the coaching and therapy support session(s).Can be delivered face to face or online.

Additional travel and accommodation when delivered face to face.
Parent EducationDelivered online or in-person, aligned to your priority areas.

Families supported to embed strategies into home and community settings.

Strengthen parents understanding of child development and practical ways to support learning.
