Speech Pathology Melbourne
MELBOURNE SPEECH PATHOLOGY
Everyday Independence speech pathology supports people who have difficulties communicating or who need help to make their mealtimes more enjoyable and safer due to problems they have swallowing food and drink.
We are an experienced NDIS provider providing speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, early childhood, and positive behaviour support to people of all ages.
Our Melbourne based speech pathologists will come to you at home, school, work, or other places where you spend your time to provide therapy support in your daily life routine. We also provide appointments via telehealth if you’re unable to have your appointments in person.
We provide personalised support
From your first speech pathology appointment, we will put you at the centre of your therapy and listen to what is important to you. We will work with you and your supports to reduce the barriers that are preventing you from doing the things you want to do and living to your full potential.
We use therapies that are proven to work so you can get the most out of your therapy budget and achieve results that are important to you.
If you need more than one therapy, our speech pathology team will work with our occupational therapists and physiotherapists as a team, so you receive the right therapy at the right time.
We firmly believe that great things can happen when people have access to the right supports.
How can speech pathology support me?
Our speech pathologists work with people who have difficulty communicating because of developmental delays, stroke, brain injuries, learning disability, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, dementia and hearing loss, as well as other difficulties that can affect speech and language.
A speech pathologist will begin by assessing what you can do now and discover what your potential could be if you have the right supports. They will then work with you to set goals that are important to you. Our speech pathologists will break down the goals into manageable steps that you can achieve over time.
Our speech pathologist can support you to achieve goals that relate to:
- Communication skills – engaging in meaningful conversations with others, helping you to express how your feeling and thinking, and understanding what others say and mean
- Speech and language – improving your speech or expanding your vocabulary so you can be more confident to take part in conversations or interact in social situations
- Learning – developing reading and writing skills so you can improve your quality of life and prospects
- Communication technology – using communication devices and aids to communicate with others if you are unable to speak
- Feeding and swallowing – chewing and swallowing food safely or develop your muscle strength through physical exercises.
Everyday Independence speech pathology will support you to achieve goals that are important to you. This may include:
