Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose community based occupational therapy in Brisbane?

Therapy works best in the places you live, work, learn, and play. By supporting you in your own environments — including in-home occupational therapy in Brisbane — strategies are practical, relevant, and effective.

What happens during the initial occupational therapy sessions?

Here’s what usually happens in the first three sessions:

  • First session: Initial Assessment – we’ll explore your goals across all areas of life. For children under nine, a Key Worker leads this.
  • The second and third sessions: Focused Assessments: We’ll assess what you can do in your home and other places you spend your time. If needed, we’ll bring in other practitioners like speech therapists or physiotherapists to look more closely at certain areas.
What happens after the initial sessions?

We use everything we’ve learned to create your therapy plan. This plan may be for one, two, or three years and sets out how we’ll help you achieve your goals. For children aged under nine years, it’s called a Child and Family Support Plan.

Do you provide NDIS paediatric occupational therapy in Brisbane?

Yes, our paediatric occupational therapists support children and teenagers to build independence, social skills, and confidence in their everyday environments.

Do you provide occupational therapy for adults in Brisbane?

Yes, we support adults to build life skills, explore work or volunteering pathways, manage sensory needs, and increase independence at home, work, and in the community.

Why don’t I come into a clinic for my sessions?

Real life doesn’t happen in a clinic. Our approach builds skills in everyday environments, ensuring strategies are practical and directly useful.

Where are you located in Brisbane?

We have hubs and therapy teams across Greater Brisbane and surrounding regions, including:

    • Logan, Ipswich, Bray Park, Strathpine, North Lakes, Marsden, Loganlea, Woodridge, Inala, Redbank Plains, and all other suburbs across Brisbane, Ipswich and Caboolture.
