Habit Coach (Allied Health Assistant) Careers

Join the team making inclusion possible for all Australians.

Be a Habit Coach Change Maker

Habit coaches (allied health assistants) provide bursts of support between therapy sessions to help participants build their everyday routines and skills.

When you join Everyday Independence as a habit coach, you’ll be supported by game changing social model practitioners, across different disciplines to grow your clinical knowledge and experience.

Working as a habit coach has given me a head start into the workforce and I get to work with some amazing therapists who’ve offered me a lot of support. I get to experience what working as an occupational therapist is like.

What do our Habit Coaches (Allied Health Assistants) do?

Healthcare assistant responsibilities involve supporting practitioners to implement therapy plans. This enables people with disabilities to build their routines and skills between regular therapy sessions.

Here’s what some of our habit coaches did last week:

  • Worked alongside a practitioner at a person’s home to understand their goals, strengths and interests, and developed strategies to help them achieve those goals
  • Worked independently with the person in their home and local community to put in place habits and routines
  • Supported a person to make breakfast, do laundry and create a grocery list, then accompany them to the supermarket
  • Dropped into an Everyday Independence local hub to connect and learn from the therapy team.
