Finance Assistant

Role: Finance Assistant
Term: Full Time – Ongoing 

Location: South Morang
Salary: $65,000 plus superannuation

Your new role

We are seeking a Finance Assistant who has a passion and commitment to supporting the needs of people with a disability and will bring a ‘hands on’ professional approach to their role.  You will be someone who is keen to work at all levels, including undertaking the day to day administration and financial duties of the organisation.


What you’ll be doing

  • Working daily in Xero accounting system with a sound knowledge and understanding.
  • Ensuring all accounting data entries are promptly recorded into the system with high accuracy.
  • Communicate with the reporting team members of unusual data that requires attention.
  • Administering company car program by ensuring our practitioners are supported with company car to avoid disruption of participant’s appointment.
  • Month end reconciliation work to ensure data is reliable and useful for further analytical review work.
  • Assist Finance Partner and Finance Executive Lead in month end books closure within a tight timeline.
  • Involved in and maintaining the collection record as assigned by Finance Partner.
  • Verifying bills and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creating and amending Service Agreement along with following  up of incomplete billings.
  • At times, this position will require some light administration tasks which include posting of documents, photocopying, co-ordinating office purchases etc.

What you’ll need

  • Minimum Degree qualification in Finance or Accounting
  • Ability to proficiently use Xero accounting system
  • Demonstrated ability to meet legislative, statutory and contractual obligations
  • Highly developed organisational and administrative skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
  • A commitment to supporting the needs of people with a disability
  • Must be a ‘hands on’ team member who is keen to work at all levels, including undertaking the day to day administration and financial duties. 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with commitment and dedication.
