We are very excited to be expanding our services into Queensland.

From Monday 3 February we are available to support people with disabilities living on the Gold Coast and in the Gold Coast Hinterlands with occupational therapy and speech pathology.

Our therapy team will provide occupational therapy and speech pathology services to people of all ages so they can achieve outcomes that really matter to them and their families.

Our therapists will visit people at their home, work, school or other places within the community.  We will also offer in-room appointments at our therapy hub located at  206 Currumburra Road, Ashmore, QLD, 4217.

Two of our experienced team members are relocating to join the Gold Coast Gold Coast team.

April O’Neill, Occupational Therapist, Gold Coast Team Leader

April is passionate about people having access to ‘just enough’ support at the right time in the right environment. She values the importance of creating opportunities to enable people to participate in meaningful activities.

April joined Everyday Independence in 2017 and supports mostly adults with occupational therapy. She is also able to support people who are transitioning into new accommodation by undertaking functional assessments and developing support and housing plans under the Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialised Disability Accommodation frameworks (SDA).

Matthew Wong, Occupational therapist

Matthew joined the Everyday Independence team two years ago, supporting adults and children to do the things they want to do in their daily lives.  He has a particular interest in supporting people with psychosocial disabilities.

Matthew enjoys the versatility of occupational therapy and the opportunities it offers to really capture how support can be fun, creative and holistic.

For Matthew, good therapy involves being an active listener, working towards outcomes that are meaningful to the person together with their family and support network.
